Safety Policy

Health and Safety is one of Mid Western Lifts top priorities and we are committed to ensuring the safety of our employees and customers.

Health and Safety is the direct responsibility of all managers, supervisors, employees and contractors. We, at Mid Western Lifts, believe that accidental loss can be controlled through good management in combination with active employee involvement. Employees are encouraged to give feedback and bring forward suggestions regarding Health and Safety at weekly Tool Box Talk meetings.

Under Section 8 of the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, we recognise our legal duty to provide so far as is reasonably practicable, a safe working environment, safe work equipment and safe methods of work.

We strive to be the best in our field and this is evident in our Health and Safety records, which are constantly updated, monitored and reviewed.

Mid Western Lifts Ltd are proud to announce that we are the first company in our field to have achieved Safe T Cert accreditation.


Safe-T-Cert is a recognised system under the Build Safe initiative in Northern Ireland the Construction Safety Partnership in the Republic of Ireland and we acknowledge the importance and effectiveness of the Safe T Cert in our drive for continuous improvement.
One of the benefits of the Safe T Cert is that our Clients are assured that Mid Western Lifts Ltd are now a Safe T Cert registered Company and have an effective Health and Safety Management System.

EQUIPMENT

As dictated by the General Application Regulations 2007, we ensure all work equipment is tested and certified periodically and is maintained in good working condition. Reports of thorough test and examinations are documented and controlled.

RISK ASSESSMENTS

Method Statements and Risk Assessments are an integral part of our Health and Safety Management System. We endeavour to eliminate any reasonably foreseen hazards which may result in accidents, personal injury/illness or property damage.

TRAINING

Under Section 10 of the "Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005", Instruction Training and Supervision to employees, employees are provided with Personal Protection Equipment, up to date training, information, instruction and supervision to secure their health and safety at work, and others who may be affected by their actions.
We ensure that all management activities comply with company safety requirements as they relate to installation, operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities.

We view continuous improvement as paramount, as part of our management of Health and Safety.
